DID Team Participates in Post-graduate Advanced Laboratory Training in Aosta
From September 4 to 7, 2024, Alice Murru and Andrea Guida represented the DID team at the 9th edition of a specialized masterclass held in Aosta, led by top Italian Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field. This advanced training, aimed at laboratory technicians, combined theoretical lessons with practical lab exercises, such as microscopic observations and both traditional and innovative diagnostic techniques. The course focused on key topics such as antibiotic resistance and fungi-related diseases. Antibiotic resistance is a critical global health issue that, according to WHO estimates, by 2050 up to 10 million deaths could occur annually. The fungi module, a highly requested subject from previous participants, covered in-depth knowledge on dermatophytes, filamentous fungi, non-cultivable fungi, and yeasts—organisms increasingly linked to infections in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent individuals. The hands-on component was particularly valuable, allowing Alice and Andrea to apply their theoretical knowledge in real lab scenarios. They participated in discussions, observed live diagnostics, and manipulated samples, gaining essential skills for laboratory practice. Interactive sessions also provided an opportunity for participants to share experiences and address challenges faced in the field. DID proudly sponsored the event alongside other leading companies in the industry, demonstrating its commitment to the ongoing education of its scientific team, ensuring they can continue delivering the best possible support to clients.
