On the week of 23rd September, the Eurobio Scientific UK team attended the 34th Annual British Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (BSHI) conference in Manchester. This annual event is a key highlight for promoting our transplant diagnostics portfolio in the UK, providing an excellent opportunity for networking and showcasing our latest products. Emma Lougee, the UK’s new business manager for transplant diagnostics, joined Michael Glacken, Daan ‘t Hart (GenDx) and Robert Cordingley, at our stand. This year’s focus was on our rapid HLA typing solutions “NGS-Turbo” and “GS-Pronto”, both utilising Oxford Nanopore Technology, as well as our NGS-based chimerism solution “NGS-Track”.

There was also a focus on the promotion of the Eurobio Scientific brand to the UK transplant field, with sponsored conference lanyards and new merchandise getting the branding out there! We had great conversations across the two days. There was a spike in interest in our ONT-based assays, sparked by a great lunchtime presentation by Daan ‘t Hart. We also had encouraging discussions regarding NGS-based chimerism, with multiple projects across the country looking to revise guidelines to favour NGS-based chimerism over STR. Now that we’ve returned from the conference, our schedule is packed for the coming months to follow up on all the interest generated. We wouldn’t have it any other way – this signals a successful conference!
